Terms of service
Last updated September 14, 2026
These are the terms for using Kithside. They are written in plain language on purpose. If you create a space, join one, or use the app in any way, you are agreeing to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Kithside.
Who we are
Kithside is a product of StrideVantage Consulting, a business registered in Alberta, Canada. When these terms say "we" or "us", that is who they mean. You can reach us at info@stridevantage.ca.
What Kithside is, and what it is not
Kithside is a shared space where a family keeps up with looking after someone: updates, things to do, appointments, contacts, expenses, an optional health section, a weekly summary, and an optional daily message to the person you look after. It organizes what your family already knows and does.
Kithside does not give health, legal, or financial advice, and nothing in the app, including anything the AI writes, is a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your situation. Decisions about care are yours and your family's to make with the people who are qualified to help you make them.
Kithside is not an emergency service. It is not a monitoring service and will not notice or respond to an emergency. If the optional daily message goes unanswered for a couple of days, the space says so; that is a fact about replies, not a check on anyone's wellbeing. If someone is in danger, call your local emergency number (911 in Canada and the United States).
Your account
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. Sign-in is handled by our provider, Clerk; keep your sign-in method secure, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
Your family's space
A space belongs to the family that made it. The person who created it is its admin. Everyone in the space can post, pick up tasks, and see what the space holds, and anyone in the space can invite someone else.
Invite links are keys. Anyone who has a link can see the preview it unlocks (recent updates and open tasks, never photos and never the health section) and can join. Send links only to people you want in the space. Links expire after two weeks, work once, and anyone in the space can turn a link off at any time.
The person you look after is not a user of Kithside. Your family records information about them, so you are responsible for having the right to share it, and for being honest with them about it. The optional daily WhatsApp message goes to them only after they have replied YES to a single opt-in message, and a reply of STOP ends it immediately, no matter what anyone else in the family wants.
What you can't do
Don't use Kithside to break the law, to harass anyone, or to store content you have no right to store. Don't try to reach another family's space, probe or overload our systems, or copy the service. Don't use it to build a competing product. If you do any of these, we can suspend or close your account.
The AI features
The weekly brief and the paste-anything intake are written by an AI model. It works only from what your family has recorded and cannot add facts of its own, but it can still misread or misorder what it was given. Nothing it drafts becomes a record until a person confirms it, and the weekly brief is a summary of your family's own entries, not an assessment of anyone.
Plans and payment
Every new space gets its first 30 days with everything switched on and no card required. After that, a space is on the free plan: one space per account, up to 2 people, and 30 days of history, with the core coordination features included. An admin can move the space to Kithside Gold ($9 a month or $90 a year), which adds unlimited people, full history, the Sunday brief and the daily check-in, or to Kithside Platinum ($19 a month or $180 a year), which adds the paste-anything intake, the expense ledger and further spaces on top. When a space moves to the free plan, a check-in the person you look after had agreed to pauses until the space is on a plan that includes it; we do not message them about the change.
Paid plans are subscriptions billed monthly or yearly through Stripe, in Canadian dollars, at the price shown when you upgrade. Your card details go to Stripe and never touch Kithside. A space admin can change the plan, update the payment method, or cancel at any time through the billing page; cancelling stops future charges, and the space returns to the free plan when the paid period ends. Prices can change, and we will tell you before a change applies to you.
Your data, and leaving
What your family records is yours. Our privacy page says what we collect, where it is stored, and who processes it. A space admin can download everything the space holds, or delete the space for everyone, without asking us. If you want to be removed from a space, or to have your account closed, write to us and we will do it.
Availability and changes
Kithside is new and run by a small business. We work to keep it available and to fix problems quickly, but we can't promise it will never be down or never have a bug. Features may change, and we may add or remove things as we learn what families need. If a change matters to how you use the app, we will tell you.
Our responsibility to you
Kithside is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions you or your family make based on what is in the app. Where the law does allow us to limit our liability, it is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms removes rights that consumer protection law gives you and that cannot be waived.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using Kithside at any time. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it. If we ever decide to shut Kithside down, we will give you notice and time to export your family's data first.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If we have a disagreement we can't settle by talking, the courts of Alberta will handle it.
Changes to these terms
When we change these terms, we update the date at the top of this page. For a change that affects your rights or how you pay, we will email account holders before it takes effect.
